Location:
This basin is located south of Dakota County Highway #42 off Gardenview Avenue.
Species Present:
Northern Pike: average abundance, average size.
Largemouth Bass: lower than average abundance, smaller than average size.
Smallmouth Bass: lower than average abundance, average size.
Bluegill: above average abundance, smaller than average size.
Crappie: lower than average abundance, average size.
Boat Access:
There is no boat launch area on this lake. Anglers may carry-in small boats from parks on either end of the basin.
Shore Fishing:
Anglers may fish from shore from city property on either end of the lake. Apple Valley maintains a park with a fishing pier on the north end of the lake. Burnsville operates a public beach on the west end of the lake.

Aquatic Invasive Species Alert:
This lake contains Eurasian watermilfoil and brittle naiad. Remove all visible plant material from your boat and boating gear before leaving the lake.
Comments:
LacLavon is an artificial basin left by gravel mining operations. Earlier attempts at trout management were discontinued because of lack of interest from anglers. Smallmouth Bass have been introduced into this lake in an effort to create additional fishing opportunities. Tullibee adults were introduced as forage to improve the condition of Northern Pike in the lake, but the introduction failed. Most anglers here are fishing for Northern Pike, which are abundant and appear to bite readily. Shore fishing here is often limited by abundant vegetation growth.
