Horseback riding

Horseback riding

Over 1,000 miles of horse trails

Horse trails are generally open May 1 to November 1, depending on trail conditions. Multi-use trails shared with winter recreation may be open after November 1 or before May 1 if there is insufficient snow for winter operations and maintenance. If you plan to ride after November 1 or before May 1, please call ahead to ensure the trails are open for equestrian use. Riders must carry a current Horse Pass.

Horse Pass

Don't forget to pack your Horse Pass! Riding on most DNR-administered land requires one, and it helps fund horse trails and facilities.
