Location:
Otter Lake is located east of I-35E and north of County Road J.
Species Present:
Northern Pike: above average abundance, smaller than average size.
Largemouth Bass: lower than average abundance,average size.
Bluegill: above average abundance, smaller than average size
Black Crappie: below average abundance, smaller than average size.
Bullhead: average abundance, smaller than average size
Boat Access:
The access is located within the Bald Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park operated by Ramsey County. This is a small facility and may not be suitable for larger boats.
Shore Fishing:
There are no areas suitable for shore fishing on this lake.
Management Plans:
- Fisheries standard lake survey in 2028.
- Monitor winter oxygen levels as needed.
- Operation of aeration device by Ramsey County.
Aquatic Invasive Species Alert:
This lake contains Eurasian watermilfoil. Remove any visible plants from your boat, trailer, or other boating equipment before leaving the lake.
Comments:
This is a shallow, weedy lake. Small Northern Pike, Bluegill and Crappie are common. Heavy vegetation growth makes summer fishing difficult.
