Location:
Sunset Lake is located 4 miles northeast of White Bear Lake along County Road 7 (122nd Street N.)
Species Present:
Northern Pike: average abundance, average size.
Largemouth Bass: lower than average abundance, average size.
Bluegill: above average abundance, smaller than average size.
Crappie: average abundance, smaller than average size.
Bullhead species: lower than average abundance, larger than average size.
Yellow Perch: low abundance, small average size.
Boat Access:
There is an un-improved city owned access at the north end of the lake. The access is located at the end of Homestead Drive North and is suitable for carry-in boats only.
Shore Fishing:
Anglers may fish from the shoulder of 122th Street N.(County Road #7). The city of Hugo also has an undeveloped access on the end of Homestead Drive North. Fishing from shore on this lake may be limited by overhanging trees or heavy growth of aquatic vegetation.
Management Plans:
- Consider applications to stock fish by private parties.

This lake contains Eurasian watermilfoil. Remove any visible plants from your boat, trailer, or other boating equipment before leaving the lake.
Comments:
Public assess to this lake is undeveloped and challenging to use. The lake suffered a partial winterkill in 2013-2014, so the numbers of some fish species present may be reduced. Fish population data is very dated and does not reflect the current population.
