Fed by the cold water of natural springs, the valleys of southeastern Minnesota are an angler’s paradise, with more than 700 miles of trout streams. Ecologically sensitive, and popular with anglers from around the upper Midwest, these streams require special attention to assure that they remain healthy and productive. Now at the midpoint of a 12-year strategic plan for the southeast’s trout streams, DNR is reporting on its progress and fine-tuning plans for the period from 2010 to 2015.

Information meeting were held during the Spring of 2010 to update the public on the progress made regarding the Fisheries Long-Range Plan for Trout Stream Resource Management in Southeast Minnesota.
Work will begin in early 2015 to update and report progress on this document and prepare the next Long-Range Plan for Trout Stream Resource Management in Southeast Minnesota.
