OHV Trail Detail

Huntersville Trail

Huntersville Trail

Fifty-nine miles of OHM trail twists through Huntersville State Forest. Much of the trail is single-track, with some two-track and service road loops for beginning riders. All trails are marked and range from easy to more difficult. The Huntersville Trail is a great alternative to the more technical Martineau Recreational Trail. This trail is provided by the Township of Huntersville and maintained by the Twin Cities Trail Riders.

Winter Use: These OHM trails are not groomed. The local DNR Forestry office will close the trails if they become too soft during spring thaw. These trails are usually closed the shortest amount of time compared to other trails due to the soil type. Riders should always check for conditional closures before venturing out to ride.

The two Huntersville trail heads are located just off of roads that are plowed, but the entrance roads and the trail heads themselves are not plowed. The porta-potties are provided by the Twin City Trail Riders and are picked up the week prior to hunting season, then put back in late March or April depending on what the spring weather conditions are.
