Greenleaf Lake Pier
Greenleaf Lake State Recreation Area (SRA) is currently open for day-use. Visitors should be aware that no facilities are available within the SRA. The Greenleaf Lake Pier is located at the public water access site on the west side of Greenleaf Lake SRA. Anglers can fish for northern pike, bluegill, crappie, and walleye while enjoying the scenery of the undeveloped, forested shoreline of Greenleaf Lake.
Greenleaf Lake Dock
This public water access site is located on the southwest side of Greenleaf Lake. The dock and ramp facility provide a great place to launch a boat for a day of fishing or recreational boating.
Parking Area
A day of adventure starts here! Begin by parking your vehicle at the public water access site on the southwest side of Greenleaf Lake. Abundant parking is available for those using the fishing pier, boat ramp, or hiking trails.
Trail Entrance
Your journey at Greenleaf Lake SRA begins here at the trailhead near the parking area. This open field, dotted with cedars and sumacs, turns south and leads toward an oak forest. This section of mowed grass trail is ideal for wildlife viewing during a leisurely hike.
Wooded Trail
Your trip along the hiking trail continues south from the entrance. You will hike into the heart of an oak forest that makes up a large portion of the Greenleaf Lake SRA. Enjoy a tranquil atmosphere along the trail as it meanders through the trees.
Greenleaf Scenery
Enjoy the scenery as you explore Greenleaf Lake SRA. Hikers will discover numerous plants, mushrooms, and wildlife. Geocachers will enjoy searching for the geocache hidden somewhere within this picturesque forest.
Land Bridge
Watch waterfowl fly overhead between Greenleaf Lake and adjacent wetlands during the spring and fall months.
Intersecting Habitats
See where prairie, forest, and agriculture all meet. These three distinctly different cover types have helped create the unique environment near Greenleaf Lake SRA.
