Ice shelter deadlines

Anglers on inland waters in the southern two-thirds of Minnesota: The deadline to remove your shelters from the ice is 11:59 p.m. on March 3. The deadline for inland waters in the northern one-third of the state is March 17, and the deadline for Minnesota-Canada border waters is March 31. Remember to clean up after yourself, and that no ice is 100% safe.

3M PFAS Settlement Priority 2 RFP

A request for proposals has opened for $20 million available for restoration and recreation projects in the Twin Cities east metropolitan area and in downstream areas of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers that have been affected by Per- and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) released by 3M. Applications will be considered from local units of government, non-profit organizations, watershed districts, federal/state agencies, Tribes, and schools.

Snowmobile riders, cross-country skiers, and others who engage in snow-based winter activities still have options for getting out, though snow depth and trail conditions vary widely and are dwindling across Minnesota.
