Weekly CO report

District 16 - New Ulm area

CO Shane Vernier (Willmar-West) spent time working pheasant- and waterfowl-hunting activity. He followed up on multiple waterfowl-hunting complaints and a pheasant-hunter complaint. Vernier also spent time on a wetland violation.

CO Cassie Block (Willmar-East) spent time this week checking hunters throughout the area. Block followed up on various complaints and fielded various questions from the public.

CO Nicholas Klehr (Litchfield) worked OHV enforcement during the week. One off-highway motorcycle rider was contacted who informed CO Klehr that he got himself a new OHM for his 75th birthday. Hunters and anglers were also checked throughout the week as well.

CO Brett Wiltrout (Hutchinson-West) focused patrol efforts on waterfowl hunters and trapping. Other activities included a big- and small-game investigation. Other time was spent on a trespassing complaint and checking shore anglers along the Crow River.

CO Zachary Larson (Hutchinson-East) focused patrol efforts this past week on pheasant- and waterfowl-hunting activities. Public lands and public water access were monitored and questions about the upcoming firearms deer season were answered.

CO Thor Nelson (New Ulm) received trespassing and sick/injured-animal-related complaints. A hunter also reported losing an unloaded shotgun along the roadway around Nicollet County Road 5 and 515th Lane. Please contact Nelson if you have found the shotgun.
