Comments: Rogers Lake has a variety of species to catch. The lake has been known for its very nice Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike populations. High temperatures in 2012 did cause a summerkill of some of the Northern Pike, which may reduce the numbers and size structure of this species for the coming years. Rogers is a great lake to fish from a canoe. The fishing pier is popular, but it can be difficult to fish from when submerged vegetation is dense. The city conducts some vegetation control around the pier each summer. There is an extremely high abundance of small Bluegill in this lake and the FiN Program utilizes Rogers Lake in the spring as a source lake for stocking Bluegill into other ponds. One result we hope to see as a result of our harvesting efforts is a larger size structure in these fish.
