Comments: The FiN program has been active at Thompson Lake. To protect water quality, eroded shoreline has been planted with native aquatic and upland plant species. There is also a rain garden between the parking lot and walking path that intercepts runoff, allowing rainwater to infiltrate into the soil instead of going into the lake. Thompson produces larger Bluegill from time to time. Dakota County Parks sponsors a fishing event each year for "Take a Kid Fishing" weekend.
