Wildlife health

The wildlife health program, based at the Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area, is responsible for disease management of Minnesota's wildlife populations and has coordinated surveillance efforts for a number of diseases including chronic wasting disease, bovine tuberculosis, avian influenza and epizootic hemorrhagic disease. Current research projects are centered on understanding Minnesota's moose decline, neosporosis in wolves and newcastle disease virus in waterfowl.
