What are MBS field crews doing?
- Evaluation of existing inventory data for native plant communities and rare species in the targeted landscape (usually a county or an ECS subsection)
- Selection and delineation of potential survey sites
- Consultation with resource managers and others knowledgeable about survey sites, and acquisition of permits and permission to conduct ground surveys
- Field assessment of the quality and condition of native habitats within selected sites
- Field surveys for targeted rare species and other species of conservation concern
- Entry of data into the Department of Natural Resources' Natural Heritage Information System
- Preparation of publications and summaries of results
- Delivery of information and technical assistance
