Group camps are ideal for family reunions, Scout troops, and other groups that want to set up multiple tents in close proximity to one another. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings with grills, and access to water and primitive toilets. Modern restroom and shower facilities are not provided.
Capacity ranges from 12 to 200 people, depending on location. Most group camps are open from mid-May through October, but a few are open year-round. Pets are allowed but must be leashed and attended at all times. Only approved firewood is allowed.

Reservations policy and FAQ
Make a reservation
Online reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance, 24 hours a day, except for the first day a reservation becomes available. On that first day, reservations cannot be made online before 8 a.m. A non-refundable reservation fee ($10 for call center/$8 for web) is charged for each advance reservation.

* The Urban Wilderness Youth Camp at Fort Snelling State Park is only available to youth organizations up to 18 years of age. Maximum capacity is 75, including youth and adult supervisors. Adult supervision is required; there must be one adult for every ten youth.
