The Headwaters Inn

slidehow styling

The Headwaters Inn dates back to the 1920s. It has served many purposes over the years, operating as the Itasca State Park Headquarters, a forestry office, and the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel, to name a few. This beautifully maintained log structure now offers Itasca State Park visitors year-round accommodations conveniently located within walking distance to the Lake Itasca public water access and sports rental shop, swimming beach, picnic grounds, amphitheater, playground, and trails maintained for four-season recreation.

The Headwaters Inn offers six comfortable guest rooms, available individually for reservations. Guests share amenities, including three bathrooms, one spacious kitchen, and a charming great room featuring a wood burning stone fireplace. Venture outside to play games on the lawn, cook dinner on the campfire, or roast marshmallows under the stars.

The Headwaters Inn is a great option for individuals or small groups. Please note that rooms must be reserved individually. We do not offer a group reservation rate at this time.
